How Does Billing Work?
Starting therapy is both an emotional and financial decision. Our goal is to make the process as clear, transparent, and supportive as possible, so you can focus on whether this work feels like the right fit for you.

Standard session fees range, but typically begin at $225.
Limited sliding scale options may be available based on availability and need, please feel free to ask if cost is a concern. We can have a straightforward conversation about what feels manageable. -
Authentic Healing NYC is an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. This means I do not bill insurance companies directly and am unable to accept in-network benefits.
However, many clients are able to use their out-of-network mental health benefits for partial reimbursement.
Here’s how that typically works:
You pay the full session fee at the time of your appointment.
I provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt for insurance purposes).
You submit the superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Your insurance company reimburses you directly, based on your plan.
Reimbursement amounts vary depending on your deductible, co-insurance, and specific plan details.
-
Because insurance plans vary widely, I’m not able to verify benefits or contact insurance companies on your behalf. That said, many clients find it helpful to ask their insurance provider the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed after the deductible?
Is telehealth covered the same way as in-person sessions?
Is there a limit to the number of reimbursable sessions per year?
Insurance conversations can feel confusing and frustrating — this is very common. While I can’t guarantee reimbursement outcomes, I’m always happy to help you understand the process and what questions to ask so you can make informed decisions.

A superbillis a detailed receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs to process an out of network reimbursement claim. It lists the services you received, session dates, diagnosis and treatment codes, and payment details.
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, you can submit the superbill to your insurance company; usually through their online portal, by mail, or via a mobile app. The exact process depends on your specific plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider for instructions.
We’re happy to provide superbills monthly upon request.
